Frequently asked questions
Quick answers about services, timescales, ordering and the company.
Services
Q01What services do you offer?
Mainly Level 3 services: procedure writing, review and approval, ISO 9712 written practice, audits, 3rd party witness inspection, dispute resolution and consultancy. A limited amount of on-site casting inspection is also available by arrangement.
Q02Which NDT methods do you cover?
PCN Level 3 in ultrasonic (forgings, castings and welds), magnetic particle and penetrant testing, plus Level 2 visual inspection.
Q03Do you still do hardness testing?
No — the hardness testing equipment has been sold. Hardness testing procedures (Brinell and Leeb) are still available.
Q04Can you update our existing procedure?
Yes. Some procedures need only minor changes and others a full rewrite, so updates are quoted individually once we have seen the document. Email it to info@n-d-t.com with the standard or customer specification it must meet. More details.
Q05Do you run NDT training courses?
No, not at the moment.
Q06What is "Ask the Level 3"?
An online form where you describe your part and specification and get an instant suggested method, standard and procedure. It is guidance only — every enquiry is reviewed personally by the Level 3, who replies with a confirmed recommendation and quote.

The customised draft is normally sent within 24 hours of your order and company details, though this cannot be guaranteed.
Q08How quickly can you approve a procedure?

It depends on complexity — typically 12 to 48 hours for a full procedure.
